Our commercial real estate portfolio starts here. Jeffery has worked on the family's investments since high school, and there's a straight line from the first restaurant lease he negotiated to this building. This is where running a business and owning the property under it stopped being two separate things for the family.
Queens is also home to the family's New York restaurant, Umiya in Long Island City. That's the shape of the whole portfolio: the property sits where the business already is. Before this small building, the family had only ever seen commercial real estate from the tenant's side of the table.
